Crystal Acevedo

Dr. Crystal Acevedo is a dedicated and compassionate veterinarian who brings a lifelong passion for animal care to her work. A first-generation Mexican-American and fluent Spanish speaker, she was born and raised in Illinois, where her love for animals began at an early age. Inspired by a childhood dream of becoming a veterinarian, she has committed her life to caring for pets, whom she sees as cherished members of the family.

Dr. Crystal earned her undergraduate degree in Biology and Ecology from Loyola University Chicago. During her time at Loyola, she spent a semester in Tanzania, studying wildlife conservation and political ecology. She then went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine, where she was deeply involved in wildlife rehabilitation medicine and husbandry.

Dr. Crystal is especially passionate about supporting pet owners through every stage of their animal’s life, and she strives to make veterinary care accessible and welcoming to Spanish-speaking families. While she has a deep love for all animals, small dogs hold a special place in her heart, thanks in part to her beloved 8-year-old Pug, Wally, who is her pride and joy.

Dr. Crystal is thrilled to be part of a team that shares her values and looks forward to building lasting relationships with clients and their furry family members.

La Dra. Crystal Acevedo es una veterinaria dedicada y compasiva que aporta una pasión de toda la vida por el cuidado animal a su práctica. Ella es hispanohablante y hija de inmigrantes mexicanos. La Dra. Crystal nació y creció en Illinois, donde desde niña soñaba con ser veterinaria. Desde entonces ha dedicado su vida a ayudar a los animales, a quienes considera una parte fundamental de la familia.

Obtuvo su licenciatura en Biología y Ecología en la Universidad Loyola de Chicago. Durante su tiempo como estudiante universitaria, vivió un semestre en Tanzania, donde estudió conservación de vida silvestre y ecología política. Posteriormente, obtuvo su título de Doctora en Medicina Veterinaria en el Colegio de Medicina Veterinaria de la Universidad de Illinois, donde participó activamente en la rehabilitación de fauna silvestre.

La Dra. Crystal se apasiona por apoyar a las familias en cada etapa de la vida de sus mascotas y se esfuerza por ofrecer atención veterinaria accesible y acogedora a la comunidad hispanohablante. Aunque ama profundamente a todos los animales, los perritos pequeños ocupan un lugar muy especial en su corazón, gracias en parte a su querido pug Wally.

La Dra. Crystal está encantada de formar parte de un equipo que comparte sus valores y espera con entusiasmo establecer relaciones duraderas con sus pacientes y sus familias.
